It’s 5:30 am, and it’s been snowing all night. It doesn’t look like much here, but in the small towns outside of Madison, snow plows had to be kept at the fire/EMS stations so that they could plow ahead of the ambulances going into the countryside, even though the vehicles have chains on the tires. Some of the interstate and state highways are impassable. It’s worse in the country because the wind blows the snow over the flat farm fields and into drifts that are higher than cars on the highway.

The picture is blurry because I was shivering.

Maybe I’m odd, but I like the orangey light the street lights give off during and after a snowstorm as the light reflects off the snow. It looks pretty neat.

I heard a news story about a woman who was driving home from work at a hospital on Saturday night, (those are the only folks I don’t completely fault for being out and driving that night) and her car got stuck and she just hung out in her car until someone found her the next morning. She had blankets and things, so she just sat tight.

I hope you were able to dig out of your driveway without too much trouble!
